MOTHER´S DAY

A Mother – Truly One of a Kind

We celebrated Mother’s Day with a heartwarming afternoon full of love and gratitude, together with the children.

The photos capture touching moments from the classrooms, where more than one mom had tears of joy in her eyes during the children’s performances.

Flowers, smiles, and warm hugs rounded off the day beautifully.

EASTER CRAFT WORKSHOPS 🐣🎨🌷

Things really came to life here before Easter! We decorated eggs down to the very last detail, gave our bunnies a fresh new look, and created other spring decorations that children made together with their parents.
It was a cheerful time – full of colors, lively conversations, and the joy of creating.
The result? Lovingly made Easter decorations that now bring joy not only to us but also to everyone walking through our halls. 🐰💛
Want to take a peek at how it all went? Check out the photos! 📸

EASTER ATMOSPHERE

A little piece of our creativity in the heart of the city

We also lent a hand in creating the Easter atmosphere on the pedestrian zone.

Our clever little giraffes fully enjoyed decorating and eagerly worked to make sure our tree would be truly special.

If you’re walking through the city try to find the tree, snap a photo and don’t forget to share it with us – it will make our day happy!

TEACHERS THROUGH THE EYES OF OUR CHILDREN

The task was simple: What does your teacher look like? The result? A colorful gallery full of big eyes, wide smiles, wild hairstyles and unexpected details. Each drawing is unique – just like the child who created it.

Children are like a blank canvas, reflecting everything we as adults give them. We are their role models, and that’s why it matters how we inspire and shape them.

If you walk down our hallway, stop by our eye-catching gallery full of childlike spontaneity. You might just recognize your child´s teacher.

SHARING GOOD PRACTICE

SHARING GOOD PRACTICE

We accepted the invitation to participate in a discussion at the Faculty of Education at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.

The event took place as part of a course, upon the invitation of PaedDr. Adela Melišeková Dojčanová, PhD., from the Department of Pedagogy, during the lecture *The Child and the Book*, with the participation of students from the Preschool and Elementary Education program, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dana Kollárová, PhD., and PaedDr. Jana Trníková, PhD.

We talked about the importance of books during the lives of children and how we create spaces that foster the development of their imagination and vocabulary. The Bodka Library is a place where children can get familiar with books and discover new stories.

In addition to the library, we also introduced activities that integrate methods like Lego Steam, the Hejný’s Method and English language learning. Students also learned about class book diary that children create and about the various activities throughout their day.

This meeting was a great opportunity to gain new insights and inspiration for working with children.

Thank you for the invitation and we can’t wait for future meetings!

WELCOME AMONG US, BODKA! ✨📚

Today was a special day for us. We officially inaugurated our new library, BODKA, which will become a place filled with stories, imagination, and knowledge.

On this occasion, we were honored by the presence of three fairy godmothers, who bestowed their wishes upon our library—may it always be filled with beautiful books, adventurous stories, and young readers eager to explore.

Books have a captivating magic, and when we help children develop a connection with them from an early age, we open the doors to a world of endless possibilities. And not just that—

With every story, they expand their imagination and enrich their vocabulary.

That’s why we are delighted to offer them a space where they can discover stories, flip through books, and nurture a love for reading.

May our library be a place where children's imagination comes to life!

Carneval

ABRACADABRA, THE CARNIVAL IS HERE!

Yesterday, our school was transformed into a magical kingdom full of imaginative masks.

Princesses in fairy-tale dresses gracefully walked the halls , brave heroes saved the world , and mermaids brought us the scent of mysterious ocean depths.

Spidermen leaped from wall to wall , while the mighty Sphinx guarded its ancient secrets.

Music, colorful masks and an enchanting atmosphere filled the air, transporting us all into a world of endless possibilities.

A huge thanks to all the little and big magicians who made this day unforgettable! We can't wait for the next year!

PRESCHOOLERS GET TO KNOW SCHOOL

This week, we had special guests at our school – our preschoolers! They visited the first-grade class to see what school is really like. They eagerly participated in all activities and curiously discovered new things.

Such collaborations are very important to us because they can help children transition smoothly from kindergarten to elementary school. We are happy to be part of their educational journey and look forward to welcoming them back again.

Our Preschoolers Submerged in Adventure

On Wednesday, December 4th, our preschoolers, together with their parents, participated in a wonderful gathering at our kindergarten.

Since September, they have enthusiastically taken part in the Submerged challenge as part of the First Lego League, exploring the fascinating underwater world. They built models of the ocean, coral reefs, and discovered various marine creatures.

During the event, the children proudly presented their constructions and projects, which they had been working on for months. Parents not only admired their amazing creations but also had the chance to try building with 6 Bricks themselves. To conclude, everyone enjoyed an exhibition of children's work, showcasing their creativity, patience, and curiosity.

🎉 Visit from the Dentist

The children learned in a fun way how to properly brush their teeth and prevent cavities. They practiced their new skills on their friend, the dragon! 🐉

They found out what happens during a dental check-up so they wouldn't be afraid. At the end, they took home a diploma and a new toothbrush. 🏅🪥

Thank you to the dentist for an amazing day full of fun and learning! 💖

St. Nicholas at Kindergarten

We were honoured by a visit of St. Nicholas and his angel at our kindergarten last week! As every year, he brought packages full of healthy treats to children. Our children truly deserve it because they are not only good but also very well-behaved. St. Nicholas happily listened to the beautiful poems and songs that the children had prepared for him.

We thank St. Nicholas and the angel for their visit and we are looking forward to see them again!

VISIT FROM AFRIKA

As part of the Erasmus project, we had the honor of hosting a special visit from distant Africa, specifically from Kenya! Our little Giraffes had the opportunity to learn about local customs, food and animals and they got to know an African school through pictures and videos. At the end we all danced to the rhythmic song Jambo and learned our new motto: Hakuna Matata! We are excited to explore new cultures.

OCTOBER IS A MONTH OF RESPECT FOR THE ELDERLY

Our preschoolers visited the Senior Home in Šelpice to spend pleasant moments with the elderly and bring them joy. Such meetings remind us of the value of intergenerational relationships.

Seniors face various challenges, so it is important that we show them interest and support. The autumn season symbolically reminds us of old age as part of the life cycle. The experiences they pass on to us are valuable. In the age of technology, they can remind us of values such as slowing down, patience, and humility.

We thank the Senior Home in Šelpice for the warm welcome.

THE AGAPÉ THEATRE TOOK US TO THE DISTANT LANDS

Once again our favorite theatre artist Martin Žák delighted us with his Agapé Theatre and the performance of “The Rainbow Bus.” Thanks to the power of children’s imagination, we went on a joyful journey around the world without any trouble. We discovered new countries, made new friends and realized that the world is as colorful as a rainbow. We are looking forward to ride such a journey in the future.

Our pumpkin festival

We gathered again and welcomed parents to carve pumpkins with their children. We had a colourful autumn afternoon full of joy and shared moments. The result is an eye-catchingly decorated school with cheerful pumpkins. There was also a mini competition for the most beautiful creation.

We are already looking forward to next year!
